In order for a hypnotist’s suggestions to be effective they must be stated in the positive. What does one focus on if you are given the command, “ Don’t run!”  You focus on running!   Your mind thus perceives running if you say, “Don’t run.”   It would be better to simply state, “ Walk Slowly!”  Direct commands always are more effective in the use of hypnosis. Some excellent examples of stating in the positive like the following:

–Relax deeply,

–Allow your body to relax

–Breathe Deeply

–Focus on my voice and only the sound of my voice.

–Feel as if you feel as if you are a like a rubber band, and relaxIMG_0309
