Getting back to Music

As we all know, there is nothing better than travel. It’s also great to come back home and play music with a big group that you have known for a long time. Music is within the soul and to let yourself freely escape into it is a true joy! I play with a band called Jaggedease with some great players in Minnesota inlcuding Brian Koser on saxaphone, Mike King on guitar, Todd Owen on guitar, Eric Amundrud on drums, Blake Bonde on Bass and Jonh Sievers on Trombone. Here is a little illustration. of it at an event called Thursdays on. First in Rochester, Minnesota.

Northern Lights.

Have you ever seen Northern Lights? Can you imagine thousands of years ago when one first saw the Northern Lights? I’ve often imagined what they must have thought when first seeing the sky light up at night in a way the moon can only hint at. Northern Minnesota is a great place to see the Northern Lights. As you can see, these were the greenish kind, but they can also be many other shades of the color patterns.

Grand Marais

The surprise on the Superior Coast, (The Lake Superior Coast) is the town of Grand Marais. It’s a town that would remind you of a Washington State coastal town like Port Angeles or a hint of Ely, Minnesota with the combination of ruggedness and leisure tourism. Grab your bike and ride down the coast on part of the Gitchi-Gami Trail. You’ll find waterfalls and maybe even some bikers going to the Vikings game at the local tavern.

A true gem if a restaurant is located just North of Grand Marais at a lodge called Naniboujou. With the stone backed fireplace the main room for breakfast or dinner is like taking a step into The Game of Thrones set or even an old Viking dinner room.

Mountain biking in Duluth

Duluth has an endless amount of biking in all forms in Duluth. The Duluth Traverse is a 40 mile mountain bike trail that starts in Chambers Park in the west side of Duluth and winds all the way to Lester Park in the east side of Duluth.

After the ride you can bike down to Fitgers Pub which is along the massive lake known as Lake Superior

Sunrise bike rides in Duluth, Minnesota

There is nothing better than seeing Lake Superior in the morning while biking along the Duluth trails that nestle right up to the water. What is also great is the the amazing feeling after the long ride sitting down with a cup of coffee. Duluth has an amazing set of bike trails for all levels of riders from extreme mountain bikers to weekend leisure weekend cruiser bikers. Duluth is know as an outdoors paradise. Outside Magazine rated Duluth as the “Best Town Ever.”

Well, you will just have to come and see for yourself! Make sure to take the bike out for a spin while you are here!

Laughter, laughter!

Every year I perform the hypnosis show for numerous After Grad Parties for high schools groups acros the country. Here is some of the fun and laughter that results.

Olympia National Park

Step into a vast ocean of trees. Olympia has some of the most amazing and towering trees you have ever seen. The park is massive, but easily entered through a close access in Port Angeles, Washington. This is only of the many ways to leave the bayside ocean and step into the vast array of trees that could be anywhere from 200 to 1000 years old. The wildlife is all around you as it’s easy to see deer, bear and the cute little marmot

The Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra

For every Star Wars fan out there, try to catch the full embrace of the music by watching the original movie with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra backing the movie live. You can truly feel the battle scenes, the presence of Darth Vader, the use of the force while listening to an outstanding group of musicians give their all with their instruments.

Bringing the guitar when you travel

A way to journal your way through life is with a guitar. Remember to always pack your intrument when traveling and it will make your journey that much better.
