Driving West – original lyrics

Driving West, this world we take me, Doing 80, wondering why I drove this way,

Eagle flies, above my head, Wondering why I can’t be just like him.

~~Would you taste the moment,

~~Would you taste the moment.

So, now you’re driving, driving west, For that uncertainty that you crave,

Chances come and chances go, Chances come and chances go.

~~Would you taste the moment,

~~Would you taste the moment.

Nashville

Nashville keeps growing! The most obvious aspect of it is when you walk down Broadway and you see the Big Apple store right next to all of the iconic old live music venues.

Take a walk down to Blues Alley and check out the great Stacy Mitchhart band, who have been playing three nights a week for the last twenty plus years. The band is amazingly tight with some horns and Stacy’s effortless guitar playing.

One of the best coffee shops ever is over on Vanderbilts campus where you step into Fidos with the perfect music, college, smell of coffee vibe.

Fear and Hypnosis

How many people looked at a shower curtain completely differently after watching Psycho? Fear is created through the power of the mind, and being on the roller coaster is completely safe by most standards. Despite the safety, many roller coaster passengers become manic and sweat, allow their heart rates to increase, and can even feel terror. If you are a person that dislikes roller coasters, and simply just image yourself on a roller coaster, you may also experience these sam effects. On stage during a hypnosis show, a hypnotist can create the same roller coaster experience through the use of mental imagery, and the subject will feel genuine fear. The words we tell ourselves or the words the hypnotist utilizes can influence or “hypnotize” to believe these unrealistic situations.

Theatre or Theater

Exploring the theaters around the country while doing the show, becomes the show in itself.

See the show or Be the show.

Carpe Diem.

Carpe Diem is what one thinks when you walk through a cemetery. While traveling across the US it can be hard to find a quiet place at times, but you can always find calm within a cemetery. I used to run through the cemetery in Pennsylvania as it was directly across from my dorm. That was a long time ago and now I frequent them while traveling as a reminder that you only have so much time here. Carpe Diem.

Danville, Kentucky Cemetery

Take a walk on the Waterfront (Seattle)

If you get a chance to be in Seattle, make sure to stroll on down to the Seattle Waterfront. After visiting the pike Place Market where you kind find every snack or lunch conceivable, walk straight down to the waterfront. The endless walking and biking trail takes you along the bay where you can smell the saltwater over the occasional fish and chips restaurant. The views are spectacular and makes you think of how great the city of Seattle truly is.

Historic Chateau Theatre

The Historic Chateau Theatre in Rochester, Minnesota has seen numerous changes over the years. In 1927 the Chateau Theatre was built and was originally a performance hall, theatre and playhouse. It then became a Barnes and Noble in the 1990’s. Recently it has been changed back to a theatre and performance hall. Give a listen to Jaggedease with Brian Koser on the saxophone and Todd Owen ripping it on the Telecaster.

One of the Funniest Hypnosis Skits

Years ago, I performed at the University of Wisconsn-Stout and I had one of the funniest characters ever be hypnotized. After running through the usual warm up skits like rowing a canoe and going on a rollercoaster, you get to the more adventurous skits. I had a student ACT AS IF they are Steve Erwin, the crocodile hunter and he jumped up on the chair. Illustration is below:

The Museum of Art in Kansas City

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of art is a big surprise. The calm that you can find strolling around any museum, especially this one as it is not quite as busy as most of them in the world. From Monet to Turner you can turn the page back in time and pier into the history of life.
